  • Read Matthew 7:24–27 — Both builders heard Jesus’ words, but only one acted on them. Where is there currently a gap between what you know and how you are living?

  • Read James 1:22–25 — James warns that hearing God’s Word without obeying it can deceive us. Why is knowing the right thing sometimes easier than doing it?

  • Read James 1:2–4 — Storms reveal what our lives are built on. What has a recent difficulty revealed about your faith or where you place your trust?

  • Read Psalm 62:5–8 — Besides God, what are you most tempted to build your security on—money, control, relationships, success, or something else? How dependable has that foundation proven to be?
