BUILD is a two-year generosity initiative designed to accelerate our generosity in an effort to launch us into our Master Plan and launch our ministry to reach beyond our county.
BUILDING FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
Lakeland has always been a place that valued the next generation. In recent years we’ve put our money where our mouth is and built state of the art spaces designed to help kids connect with God. Additionally, with the investment of Lakeland Park, we’ve created a space where visitors are welcome and families are finding a church home. Lakeland Park has definitely attracted more families and with that…come more children. This has created a growing need for more kids spaces to keep up with our growing number of young families. We never want to turn away a child from our kids ministry due to a lack of space. This build will prepare for the next generation.
BUILDING FOR THE COMMUNITY
Over the years Lakeland has gone “all in” on serving our community and loving on people in our community. Events like Egg Drop, our Honor Series (where we honored all those in education, first responders, and those in government), the sponsoring of assemblies and food packing events in the schools, our teacher recognition event, Blessing of the Bikes, and Lakeland Park, just to name a few, have created ripples in our community. As such, we are reaching those in our community. They are coming to church, they are coming to the Park, they are coming for special events… but the point is they are coming. To better serve our community we desire to add additional seats within our Auditorium, we desire to double our foyer space, where those in our community hang out and gather, we intend on adding a full service coffee bar which will serve the 50,000+ annual visitors to the Park, and we desire to add an additional entrance from Route 67 to the church and more parking. This build will serve our community in huge ways.
BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE
We’ve said it this way…we love what God is doing HERE at Lakeland and we believe that God is calling us to take what we are doing HERE to places over THERE. We are stepping out in faith to launch our first multi-site location in Pleasant Prairie. As Pastor Jon Thies leads the charge into that arena, we want to make sure he is resourced to lead that site to success. We are prayerfully believing that Pastor Jon’s site will just be the first of many as we build for the future.

Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Giving may be designated toward the Build Initiative; however, the project order (phases of building) will be determined by Lakeland’s Lead Team with the Lakeland Overseeing Board. These projects will be tackled in a priority order that meets Lakeland’s greatest needs first.
In the past, our generosity initiatives could typically finish or complete the proposed project. The Master Plan being rolled out during Build is likely a bigger project than is fundable during this 2-year initiative. Thus, Build will launch us into our Master Plan as well as fund ministry outside of the Lake Geneva Campus Master plan (i.e. the launching of future sites).
Lakeland’s leadership will assess where we are at, as far as building, future sites, etc., at the completion of the Build Initiative. At that time, we will develop a strategic plan to continue and finish projects in a responsible manner. This may include rolling some aspects of the unfinished projects into phases/projects that can be tackled within our annual budget, as each year we make capital improvements. These annual capital projects help us maintain an excellent facility to serve our church family and community.
Yes, we raised $250K toward future sites during the MOVE Initiative. Those funds were saved from the previous initiative and are being used for the Pleasant Prairies launch. However, the site’s launch will exceed $250K, thus we are raising additional funds to ensure it is appropriately resourced for success.
We know that it can be hard to foresee finances two years out, that’s why even though this is a two-year initiative, we are only asking you to make a one-year commitment at a time. At this time, we ask that everyone make a one-year commitment, beginning April 1, 2025 and finishing on March 31, 2026. At that time, we will do one-year commitments for Build Year 2.
We are asking you to make a sacrificial commitment to generosity – whatever it is that God leads you to do. Follow His leading – nothing more, nothing less. Prepare your heart to hear Him and then listen to what He says.
First and foremost, pray and seek God’s leading on what He is asking of you. Engage in personal reflection with God through the Build resources. Talk with your spouse and your family about what this commitment will mean for you. Please mark your calendar to attend Commitment Weekend Services on either Thursday, March 13 or Sunday, March 16.
There will be frequent updates in The Weekly email as well as occasional updates on the website.

We are asking that you would continue to give to the general fund as you always have, as our weekly ministry is funded through our weekly tithes. Would you prayerfully give above and beyond to the Build Initiative? Would you join everyone in giving?
Be creative as you explore ways you can give toward Build. You might have socks, property, or other items of that nature. Or God might be calling you to give out of stored resources He has blessed you with in the past. To discuss a gift of stocks, investments, or property, contact Richard Holt at richard@lakeland.church.
