The Parables Of Jesus - Week 3
  1. Think of a time when someone helped you out of a situation you could not fix by yourself. What did their help cost them?

  2. Read Luke 10:25–37 — The expert asked, “Who is my neighbor?” because he wanted to define the limits of whom he was required to love. Who are you most tempted to place outside those limits—and why?

  3. Read Philippians 2:3–4 — It is easier to value people who think, live, and believe like we do. What boundary might God be asking you to cross so you can better understand and care for someone different from you?

  4. Read Mark 10:46–52 — Jesus allowed Bartimaeus’ need to interrupt His journey. What usually keeps you from treating an interruption as a possible assignment from God?

  5. Read James 2:15–17 — Compassion requires action, not merely good intentions. When have you recognized someone’s need but stopped short of actually doing something? What held you back?

  6. Read 1 John 3:16–18 — Jesus’ compassion for us cost Him something. Who might God be placing on your heart this week, and what practical act of compassion can you offer them?
