School of Hard Knocks-Week Eight

Q1. Read 2 Chronicles 16:7-8
Asa trusted a foreign king instead of God and faced consequences. What are some “kings” or other sources of help you sometimes trust more than God, even when you know better?

Q2. Read Psalm 32:5
The Hebrew distinguishes between “sin” (missing the mark), “transgression” (deliberately crossing the line), and “iniquity” (twisted, habitual sin). How does understanding these different types of sin shape how you think about your own struggles and need for God’s forgiveness? Which type do you find hardest to confess or admit?

Q3. Read Psalm 51:17
What does it look like in your life to come before God with a “broken and repentant heart,” and why is that attitude vital in breaking unhealthy patterns?

Q4. Read 1 John 1:9
Can you share an experience where honestly confessing your sin to God brought real freedom or a fresh start?

Q5. Read James 4:7-8
What are some practical ways you can submit to God and draw near to Him daily to resist temptation and avoid falling into a downward spiral? How can this group encourage you in that?
