School of Hard Knocks Week 7

Q1 – Read 2 Chronicles 14:11.
“Help us, Lord our God, for we rely on You…”
What stands out to you in Asa’s prayer? How does it contrast with how we usually approach difficult situations or decisions?

Q2 – In 2 Chronicles 15:2, the prophet says:
“The Lord is with you when you are with Him.”
This may sound obvious, but Pastor Josh said we often get this backwards by asking God to join our plans instead of joining His. What’s the difference between those two postures? How can you tell if you’re doing one over the other?

Q3 – Let’s read Joshua 5:13-14 together.
When Joshua meets the commander of the Lord’s army, he asks, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” The reply: “Neither.”
What do you think this moment teaches us about God’s priorities? How does it challenge the way we typically ask God for help or guidance?

Q4 – Look at 2 Chronicles 15:12 & 15.
“They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord… and He was found by them.”
What does it look like in real life to “seek the Lord with all your heart and soul”? What are some practical ways we can pursue that this week?

Q5 – Asa removed idols, even those put up by family (15:8, 16).
Pastor Josh said that walking with God often means removing the things that make us stumble. What’s one thing in your life—big or small—that might be a distraction or stumbling block in your walk with Jesus?

Q6 – Seeking God may mean going against what’s popular or easy.
Have you ever had to make a difficult choice to stay faithful to God—one that wasn’t understood or supported by others? How did God meet you in that?
