School of Hard Knocks - Week Four
School of Hard Knocks Week 5
Read Matthew 6:25. Do you let worry overpower your life?
Read 1 Peter 5:7. Do you try to carry your problems on your own? How can you turn them over to Jesus?
Pastor Jayson says we should look to our Heavenly Father first in the midst of worry. Read Matthew 6:26-30. What does this passage show us about priorities and gratitude, rather than worry and panic?
We should also look to our faith before worrying. Have someone read Matthew 6:31-33. How can you fill the “what if” worry gap with faith that exudes the Fruits of the Spirit?
Read 2 Timothy 1:7. How can we stop the cycle of worry? What power does God give us to do that?
Pastor Jayson also says we should look to our future instead of worrying. Read Deuteronomy 31:8. How can we read and internalize verses like this to get rid of worry?
Discuss some worries that have been on your mind with the group. How can you reframe these worries from “what if” they happen, to “even if” they happen God is still at work in my life?
