School of Hard Knocks - Week Four
School of Hard Knocks- Week 4
When it comes to your relationship with God, do you feel you have a good balance of doing stuff FOR God and just being WITH God?
Have someone read Luke 10:38-42. What does the this story show us about working FOR versus being WITH Jesus? Do you agree being WITH Jesus should be more of a priority?
Pastor Josh is spot on when he explains God wants us to have consistent, rhythmic rest. Read Psalm 23:1-3. Do you prioritize scheduled rest in your daily routine? Why do you think it’s so important to do this?
Luke 5:16 says, “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Why do you think it’s important for us to love being alone sometimes? What are some things you can do alone that will draw you closer to God?
Pastor Josh shared an interesting study that shows the average person gets a distraction at work every two minutes, whether it be a new email, text, a coworker walks by, or a notification on your phone. How can you be more intentional about rest even while you’re working?
Read Matthew 11:28-30. How does this passage describe the relationship between hard work and rest? How does it also describe the only way to find true rest in Him?
