Easter 2025

April 21, 2025

Q1 Pastor Josh described how the disciples experienced dramatic emotional shifts over three significant days.
Read Mark 14:50 and John 20:19-20. What different emotions do you see before and after the resurrection? When have you experienced a significant shift in your faith journey where something that seemed hopeless suddenly became clear?

Q2 In Isaiah 53:4-6, we read a prophetic description of what Jesus would
suffer. Take time to read this passage slowly together. Which specific phrase or image in this passage speaks most deeply to you about what Jesus endured? How does understanding the depth of Christ's suffering impact your view of God's love for you?

Q3 Pastor Josh mentioned that "the resurrection is proof that the cross worked." Read Romans 6:5-11, which discusses our participation in Christ's death and resurrection. What does it practically mean in your daily life that you have been "united with Christ in his resurrection"? How might this truth change how you approach persistent struggles with sin?

Q4 In Acts 2:37-41, we see how Peter extended the invitation to receive Christ, and 3,000 people responded. Looking at their response, what elements were involved in receiving this invitation? Pastor Josh talked about saying "Jesus is Lord" and actually meaning it—what areas of your life might you still be hesitant to place under Christ's lordship?

Q5 Pastor Josh shared the story of the 97-year-old tortoise becoming a first-time mother, illustrating that it's never too late for a new beginning. Read 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, which talks about being a "new creation" in Christ. In what specific ways has following Christ made you new? Is there someone in your life who needs to hear that it's not too late for them to accept God's invitation?
