PRAYER - Week Three
Q1 - Pastor Josh said shameless audacity is what the heart of the Father responds to, asking if we pray prayers that 'make God sweat' - not because they challenge God, but because they stretch our faith. What is one area in your life where you've been hesitant to pray with shameless audacity, and what holds you back from praying bigger prayers?
Q2 - Read Matt 18:18-20 - We heard in the sermon the difference between praying like a thermometer (measuring temperature) versus a thermostat (setting temperature). How can we shift our prayers from simply describing situations to actually expecting change?
Q3 - Luke 11:9-10 - Asking is making the request, seeking is surrounding yourself with faith environments, and knocking is practicing prayer in a way that others can hear - making it public rather than private. What steps could you take this week to incorporate all three aspects (ask, seek, knock) into your prayer life?
Q4. - Read 1 Timothy 2:1–2 - The New Mexico testimony described sustained, organized prayer for leaders, public life, and the community. If we actually committed to “supplications, prayers, intercessions…for kings and all in authority,” what specific change would you ask God to bring to our region — and what half-hour slot will you personally take to pray for it?
Q5 - Read James 1:6-8 - The sermon gives examples of 'low bar prayers' like praying for safe travel or doctor visits that are already likely to happen, versus prayers that require God's supernatural intervention. What would it look like for you to raise the bar in your prayer life while maintaining authentic faith?
