Life Reset - Week Three
Q1 – Let's begin by reading James 1:2-4 aloud. James reminds us to “consider it pure joy… whenever you face trials.” Why would Scripture encourage joy in hardship? In what ways can trials produce something greater in our lives?
Q2 – Read Romans 8:17-18. Pastor Josh said that our present sufferings aren’t worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed in us. How does this verse help reset your perspective on something difficult you’re facing right now?
Q3 – Read Numbers 11:4-6 and Exodus 1:13-14. In Numbers, the Israelites complain about missing the "good food" of Egypt. But Exodus reminds us of their harsh slavery. Why do we sometimes romanticize past seasons that were actually painful? Can you share a time when you had selective memory about a situation in your life?
Q4 – Read John 10:10. Pastor Josh contrasted the mission of the enemy—to steal, kill, and destroy—with Jesus’ desire to give us life to the full. Where in your life do you sense the enemy trying to devour something? How might Jesus be inviting you into something abundantly better?
Q5 – Read Romans 8:28.. This is one of the most quoted verses in suffering. What does it really mean that God works *all things* together for good? Share an example—personal or someone you know—where God brought good out of hardship.
Q6 – Read John 9:1-3. Jesus says the blind man's condition was not the result of sin, but so God's works might be displayed. Is it possible that some of your struggles are actually stages for God's glory to be revealed? What would it look like to trust God in that?
