NextGen Reopening – What To Expect

The time is finally here! After 25 weeks of coronavirus quarantine, we are ready to reopen physical NextGen Ministry at Lakeland church. That means full Preschool, Elementary, and Student Ministry is back!
Our staff and leaders have spent the last several months learning how we can safely reopen the ministry that has meant so much to all of us!
We’ve decided that we want to fight for a normal ministry environment even in an unusual time. Our ministries will still focus on the same core DNA pieces that we have for years – relationships, discovering Jesus, and partnering with parents
These new safety procedures allow us to do that!
  • Face Masks – Face masks will not be required for any child in our Preschool Ministry. Elementary students will be requested to wear masks and masks will be available. Masks allow us to still prioritize small group communities without six feet of distance between participants.
  • Reduced Capacity – To maintain the ability to socially distance, we are limiting capacity in our Preschool Ministry spaces. Once a room has hit its capacity, we will encourage families to enjoy the service together in the auditorium. We’ll even provide an activity bag to make sure your kids still get to engage with our weekly program!
  • Touchless Experience – Our priority will be preserving a touchless experience with hand sanitizing stations set up throughout NextGen spaces. All toys and high-contact objects will be switched between services and sanitized throughout the week.
  • NextGen Team – Our NextGen Staff and Team Members will be focusing on creating the safest and most engaging environments possible. They will be wearing masks and working to ensure other safety protocols throughout the morning. We’d love it if you would encourage them!
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to Jayson at I’d love to connect about the why behind each of these decisions. Thanks!
