Kate was raised in the suburbs of Chicago in a Jesus loving home. She had her heart set on missions work after reading Elisabeth Elliot’s Through Gates of Splendor.
That desire led her to a one year Bible College in the Rocky Mountains (Montana Wilderness School of the Bible) where she also met her husband, Joe. After getting married, they continued their education at Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon where Kate studied Biblical Greek/Hebrew and Theology.
Although Elkhorn Wisconsin is very different from the Jungles of South America where she always envisioned they would live; Kate and her husband feel called to their little street where they love raising their 4 kids (Quincy, Molly, Jubilee and Clarke) and loving on their neighbors.
Kate loves people! Her glass is almost always half-full and she’s never come across a stranger-only friends she hasn’t met yet. She loves the community at Lakeland and is excited to keep loving on people and show them just how truly valuable and cherished they are to Him.
