Ice Breaker

  1. This week we’re talking about generosity with our time, talent and treasure. Pick 1 of the following 3 scenarios and share what you would do. If you had 100 extra hours how would you spend it? If you could serve 100 hours where and how would you serve? If you could give away $100,000 where would you invest it?

Diving In

  1. What jumped out at you from the message on Sunday? A verse, thought, story, etc…
  2. We often feel maxed/ stretched to our limits when we think of our time, talent, and treasure. Is there anything you’ve discovered in life to help bring balance with these three?
  3. Pastor Josh used a phrase “You’ve got to say no to the good things to be able to say yes to the best things.” Discuss how you see this played out in the following passages.
    1. Time: Mark 6:30-31, 6:45-46, 9:30-31. What did Jesus say no to and yes to in these passages?
      1. Is there anything obvious in your life that if you said no to it would provide time to say yes to something more important?
    2. Talent: Matthew 4:18-19. What does Jesus call the disciples to say no to, to say yes to something else?
      1. Is there a talent/ability you would be willing to use for the good of Christ’s kingdom?
    3. Treasure: Luke 18:18-23. What does Jesus call the rich young ruler to say no to and yes to?
      1. Is giving to the Lord with your treasure easy or difficult for you? If it’s difficult, why? If it’s easy, how could you be stretched even further in this area?
  4. Pastor Josh talked about taking a time out in the 3 T’s. Of the three categories, is there one that has the greatest need of taking a time out in your life? How will you do that this week?
